How to care for plants in LECHUZA planters?
After the transplant, you water the plant from above for the first 12 weeks, as usual. During this time, it passes the roots and enters the wet zone.
To check whether it is possible to switch to the self-watering system, raise the inner pot to see the roots. Alternatively, you can pour water into the self-watering system until it reaches a level between the “min” and “max” marks on the indicator. If the water level decreases after a few days, you can start the self-watering process. If the water level hasn’t moved, drain the system and continue watering in the usual way from above.
On switching to self-watering, the plant will drink as much water as necessary. When the indicator drops to the minimum level, we recommend waiting a short while for the water residues to be totally used before refilling. For table plants, the wait is around two days; for floor plants, up to a week.
Watering from above and using the self-watering system at the same time is not recommended.
